Pharmaceutical compositions comprising synergistic combinations of herbal compounds from, and optionallyand 4-amino-3-phenylbutanoic acid are provided for treating pain and reducing opioid use. The compositions comprise defined ratios of the extracts optimized for enhanced analgesic efficacy and opioid-sparing effects. Methods of administering the compositions to subjects in need thereof result in significant reductions in pain and opioid use compared to the individual components. The unique multi-component formulations take advantage of synergistic interactions between extracts with analgesic, anxiolytic, and opioid use disorder mitigating properties.
