Production of Cto Csaturated hydrocarbon by alkylating a reactant aromatic hydrocarbon with a Cto Colefin to produce alkylation product comprising a Cto Calkyl aromatic hydrocarbon and subsequent hydrogenation of the alkylation product to produce hydrogenated product comprising a Cto Csaturated hydrocarbon. The Cto Calkyl aromatic hydrocarbon comprises an aromatic Cring and one or more Cto Calkyl groups attached thereto.
