The invention discloses a light emitting device, a lighting apparatus and a light emission control method. The light emitting device includes a substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, a light emitting unit, and a charge generation and separation unit. Wherein the material of the first electrode and the material of the second electrode are materials capable of providing the same current carrier, so that the electric field direction between the first electrode and the second electrode can be controlled by controlling the potentials of the first electrode and the second electrode, and the charge generation and separation unit can be matched with the first electrode in one electric field direction, so that the charge generation and separation unit can be matched with the second electrode in the other electric field direction. In one electric field direction, the charge generation and separation unit can be matched with the second electrode to drive one of the two light-emitting units to emit light, and in the other electric field direction, the charge generation and separation unit can be matched with the second electrode to drive the other light-emitting unit to emit light. Therefore, the two light-emitting units of the light-emitting device provided by the embodiment of the invention can emit light alternately, so that the service life of the light-emitting device can be effectively prolonged.
