A motion control method and motion equipment, the method comprising: acquiring an image of a first area, the image indicating position information of a first obstacle in the first area, the first area being an area where a destination of the motion equipment is located; sensor information is acquired, the sensor information indicates first depth information between a second obstacle and the motion equipment, and the second obstacle is an obstacle located at a first preset height in the first area; according to the image and the first depth information, first distance information of the first obstacle is determined, and the first distance information indicates the transverse distance between the first obstacle and the second obstacle in the image and the depth distance between the first obstacle and the motion equipment; and in the process that the sports equipment moves to the destination, the sports equipment is controlled to avoid obstacles according to the first distance information. The scheme of the invention can be applied to motion equipment such as smart homes and obstacle avoidance robots, and can improve the obstacle sensing precision of the motion equipment and the obstacle avoidance real-time performance of the motion equipment.
