A display device according to an embodiment includes pixels including light emitting elements disposed in respective emission areas, conductive patterns disposed in a touch sensing layer on the light emitting elements and including a touch electrode, a first light blocking layer disposed on the touch sensing layer and disposed in a non-emission area around the emission areas to surround the emission areas, and a second light blocking layer disposed on the first light blocking layer and surrounding the emission areas of some of the pixels. The display device further includes a light blocking pattern disposed in a same layer as at least one of the conductive patterns of the touch sensing layer and surrounding the emission areas of the some pixels.

A controller includes: an input image data reception circuit configured to receive input image data including a grayscale value of a pixel; a representative value calculation circuit configured to calculate an on-pixel ratio from the received input image data; a weighting calculation circuit configured to calculate a weighting corresponding to the input image data based on the calculated on-pixel ratio; and an image data output circuit configured to output image data generated by multiplying the input image data by the calculated weighting.

A display device includes a data compensator to generate output image data by adding an extension bit to input image data received from an external processor, a data driver to supply a data voltage corresponding to the output image data to each of data lines, and a pixel unit including a plurality of sub-pixels. The timing controller may periodically vary a data rate based on which the image data is transmitted to the data driver and may periodically vary an output time point of the enable control signal based on the data rate.

A display device includes a display including pixels connected to a first power line, a second power line, scan lines, and data lines, a current sensor for sensing a global current value flowing to the pixels, a power generator for supplying a first driving power and a second driving power to the first and second power lines, and a timing controller for controlling the power generator so that a voltage rising time of the first driving power is changed in response to a differential voltage value corresponding to a difference between a voltage of the first driving power of a previous frame and a voltage of the first driving power of a current frame, and in response to a differential current value corresponding to a difference between the global current value and a maximum current value to flow to the pixels in response to a load of the display.

A display device includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels; and a display driver configured to display an image on the display panel in units of frame periods, to supply data signals corresponding to the image to the display panel during a display period of the frame period to display the image, and to not display the image during a blank period of the frame period, wherein during a blank period of one of the frame periods, the display driver is configured to supply data signals including at least one data drop waveform to the display panel.

A display device includes: a display panel including a sub-pixel, the sub-pixel including: a first capacitor; a first transistor to generate a driving current, and including a control electrode connected to the first capacitor; a second transistor connected to the first capacitor, and to provide a data voltage or a reference voltage to the first capacitor in response to a write gate signal; and a light emitting element to receive the driving current to emit light; a data driver to selectively output the data voltage or the reference voltage to the first capacitor through a source channel; and a timing controller to control the data driver.

An emission driving circuit includes: a pull-up controller configured to transmit a first voltage to a first pull-up control node in response to an input signal, to control a voltage of a second pull-up control node in response to a voltage of the first pull-up control node and a clock signal, and to transmit a second voltage to a third pull-up node in response to the voltage of the second pull-up control node; a pull-down controller configured to transmit the input signal to a second pull-down node in response to the input signal and the clock signal; and an output circuit configured to output an emission signal from an output node in response to a voltage of the third pull-up control node and a voltage of the second pull-down control node.

A pixel in a display device includes a light emitting element connected to a first power line, a first transistor connected between a cathode of the light emitting element and a second power line, a second transistor connected between a second node and a data line, a first capacitor connected between a first node and the second node, a third transistor connected between the first electrode of the first transistor and the first node, a second capacitor connected between the second node and the first power line, and a fourth transistor that initializes the second node in response to a second scan signal during an initialization period.
