The method comprises the steps that when the air conditioner operates in a heating mode and meets starting conditions of a defrosting mode, an indoor fan of the air conditioner is controlled to operate at a reduced rotating speed, and an outdoor unit of the air conditioner is controlled to operate by maintaining current parameters; when the operation of the air conditioner reaches a first preset condition, the outdoor unit is controlled to operate according to target parameters corresponding to the defrosting mode; wherein in the defrosting mode, an indoor heat exchanger of the air conditioner is in a condensation state. The invention aims to reduce the operation noise when the air conditioner is started for defrosting and improve the defrosting effect at the same time.
