The invention discloses a connection migration method and device, and the method comprises the steps: a first end transmits migration indication information to a second end, the migration indication information comprises an end point identifier of a second SCTP end point, and the end point identifier is used for indicating that the second end is switched from a first SCTP end point connection with the first end to a second SCTP end point connection with the first end; the second end receives migration indication information from the first end and sends a reconnection request to the first end according to the migration indication information, and the reconnection request comprises an end point identifier of a second SCTP end point and is used for requesting to establish connection between the second end and the second SCTP end point, the connection between the SCTP endpoints of the first end and the second end is stream control transmission protocol SCTP link connection. By adopting the method provided by the embodiment of the invention, the load re-balancing of the link can be realized, and the communication quality of the SCTP link is ensured.
