A method of preparation of a reinforced carbonated construction element, includes a) preparing a composition containing a cement, metal reinforcing elements, water and hydrophobic additives; then b) a carbonation of the composition in presence of COgas having a COcontent higher than 500 ppm, wherein the composition includes more than 0.05% in weight, compared to the total weight of the cement, of hydrophobic additive.
