本发明涉及天然橡胶生产技术领域，公开了一种提高橡胶草天然橡胶产量的基因、蛋白及应用。本发明通过在橡胶草中筛选得到一种HNRP1蛋白及其编码基因基因，经过表达基因转化橡胶草进行该基因的功能研究，验证了转基因橡胶草中相比于野生型橡胶草中的天然橡胶含量显著提高，以及证实了基因可以作为橡胶草含胶量的关键调控基因。上述基因，可以为选育高产橡胶草新品种提供优良基因，采用转基因与基因编辑技术进行定向改良可以极大地加快橡胶草优良新品种的选育，促进橡胶草的商业化开发。
