The instant disclosure is drawn to an anhydrous hair treatment composition comprising: (a) one or more vegetable oils, wherein the one or more vegetable oils comprise about 25 wt. % or more of castor oil; (b) one or more emollients, wherein the one or more emollients comprise about 5 wt. % or more of caprylic/capric triglyceride; (c) one or more polymeric oil thickening agents; and (d) optionally, about 0.1 to about 5 wt. % of one or more sensorially active agents; wherein the one or more vegetable oils of (a) and the one or more emollients of (b) are in a weight ratio of about 1:1 to about 4:1 ((a):(b)). The anhydrous hair treatment composition is particularly useful in methods for smoothing, hydrating, and conditioning hair.
