It is a method for producing a sulfide solid electrolyte including mixing, in a solvent, a raw material-containing substance that contains a plurality of raw materials each containing at least one atom selected from a lithium atom, a phosphorus atom, a sulfur atom, and a halogen atom, and subsequently heating the mixture, wherein the solvent includes an organic solvent, which is an ether solvent and an alcohol solvent, in an amount of 60% by volume or more based on a total amount of the solvent, and the raw material-containing substance contains elemental sulfur and lithium sulfide.
