Provided are a metadata recovery method and apparatus for a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) controller, a device, and a nonvolatile readable storage medium. The method includes: setting sorting of each controller in the RAID controller, and setting a backup controller for each controller according to the sorting; selecting a preset number of strips from each controller, numbering each strip, and setting a unique owner controller for numbered strips of each controller; backing up other controllers according to the set backup controller and the unique owner controller for the strips in response to a controller failure; and recovering a controller according to the set backup controller and the unique owner controller for the strips in response to controller recovery.
