Method of mutually pairing a wireless gear control device and a wireless gear changing device for a bicycle, comprising: providing a wireless gear control device and a wireless gear changing device for a bicycle; by a user action to at least one of the wireless devices, causing the at least one of the wireless devices to attempt to participate in a pairing process in which the wireless devices can be mutually paired; and completing the pairing process so as to mutually pair the wireless devices. Further aspects provide a corresponding wireless gear changing system, wireless devices for use in the system, and associated methods.
