本发明公开了一种制备邻羧基苯甲醛的新工艺，先由邻苯二甲酸酐与水合肼反应得到邻羧基苯甲酰肼，在亚硫酸钠存在下加热反应生成醛与亚硫酸氢钠的加成盐，再经强酸解析，得到邻羧基苯甲醛。本合成方案避开了毒性较大的溴素，而且起始原料邻苯二甲酸酐、水合肼价廉易得，降低了生产成本。
