The method comprises the steps that image registration is conducted on a registration image area, corresponding to an initial template image, in an image to be matched and the initial template image to obtain a registration result, and the registration result comprises at least one of the zoom scale and the rotation angle; adjusting the initial template image according to the registration result to generate a target template image; and performing template matching on the to-be-matched image according to the target template image to obtain each target area matched with the target template image in the to-be-matched image. Therefore, under the condition that the target area is subjected to scale zooming or angle rotation relative to the initial template image, the initial template image can be adjusted in a targeted manner according to the registration result, and then the target areas under various scales and angles are accurately matched in the to-be-matched image according to the target template image. Therefore, the limitation of performing template matching by using the existing single template image is effectively solved.
