The communication method comprises the following steps: a first network device receives configuration information, wherein the configuration information is used for enabling the first network device to report time information for synchronous transmission of a first data stream of a service and a second data stream of the service; determining a first transmission time when a first service flow is sent by an application server to arrive at the first network device; and reporting the time information for synchronously transmitting the first data stream and the second data stream based on the first transmission time. In this way, a multi-data-stream synchronization scheme is provided, and the scheme carries out synchronous transmission scheduling on the data streams based on the time information related to the transmission time of the service streams from the application server to the first network equipment, so that the accuracy of end-to-end synchronous transmission between the data streams is ensured, and the service experience of a user is guaranteed.
